What do Beavers Do

Our Beavers meet once a week in a fun, friendly, and active environment. In Beavers, children get the chance to:

  • Play games and do team challenges
  • Learn simple outdoor and life skills
  • Go on short hikes and walks
  • Take part in camps and sleepovers
  • Celebrate achievements with badges and awards

How are Beavers organised?

Beavers meet as a Colony and work in small teams called Lodges. That helps everyone take turns, try roles, and feel included.

Our programme

We use Scouting Ireland’s One Programme approach. Beavers help plan their activities, do them with adult scouter support, and review what went well and what they enjoyed , so every meeting builds skills and confidence.

Uniform

Our Beaver Scouts wear:

  • Blue Beaver Scout jumper
  • 9th Westmeath Milltownpass neckerchief – black with a white border

You can buy the uniform from:

Beavers also wear badges they’ve earned on their jumper, proudly showing their achievements.
